  • Candye Kane: White Trash Girl
    Downbeat Magazine

For Kane, the white-trash concept isn’t a matter of ironic play-acting or shtick but rather an affirmation of an identity she’s comfortable with having lived on the fringes of society. This tough cookie wails the self-penned romp “Queen Of The Wrecking Ball” and Bullmoose Jackson’s jump blues “Big Fat Mamas Are Back In Style” with a rousing confidence. She has the courage of her convictions on a dozen more, too. And she’s smart to have placed her trust in low-down musicians in Austin like guitarist Jeff Ross and producer-sax player Kaz Kazanoff.
