UPDATE: 1/28/99: Candye appeared on the Roseanne show the other day and it was cool! She wasn't on until halfway through the show, although The Swingin' Armadillos played out to and back from commercials while Roseanne chatted with the guy that hosts Sabado Gigante. Then Candye performed a rousing number of "200 Lbs Of Fun." She then joined Roseanne and talked about being a big beautiful woman, her trials in the music biz, etc. Roseanne was just fascinated by Candye's life and had Candye speak directly to the camera to address women who were unhappy with their size. It was pretty cool.

UPDATE: 1/22/99: Candye will be featured in the next issue of the b-movie fanzine, Dr. Squid. Check out this cover illustration by artist and publisher Joe Sherlock. It features Candye battling the mutant monster from "Metamorphosis: The Alien Factor," with a trusty microphone stand. A caption will added to the final cover with Candye saying, "I deal with worse monsters than you everyday! I'm in SHOW BUSINESS!" The zine features movie reviews, interviews and articles about b-movies, science-fiction, horror, music, etc. The issue with Candye is due out sometime in February. Check out the Dr. Squid Website!
